Pete Muller & Friends

Pete Muller has been a resident artist at Caffe Vivaldi for over 10 years.

Some people know Muller as a pioneer in quant investing. Not as many know that, while he was emerging as a giant in the financial world, he was also busking in New York City subways, sharing his original and wholehearted songs with harried New York City commuters.

Muller, trained early in jazz improvisation and honing his skills hosting a songwriting circle in New York City, his music has captured the attention of such varied outlets as The New York Times and Forbes Magazine. Inspired by the likes of Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin, and Elvis Costello, Pete's lyrics tend toward the honest and the straightforward and his latest album, Two Truths and a Lie, was produced by the Grammy-winning Rick DePofi.

Most recently, as a Berklee College of Music Trustee, Muller partnered with the music school and the City of New York to renovate and revitalize the storied Power Station Recording Studios in New York. With an emphasis on “reinventing” music education, the new facility will concentrate on continuing education for school-age children, teacher training, and providing internships to current Berklee students.

Do better. Keep going. Muller's message is as simple as it is inspiring.

Son of an opera singer and a poet, you might say Jeff Jacobs was bred for songwriting. Jeff has been winning over audiences since the release of his debut EP, “Enjoy The View” in 2010, of which several songs were featured on MTV's "Teen Mom 2." Nominated Best Country Artist by LA Music Critic, Tara Dente's voice is unique and soars like a bird, reminiscent of the great Enya, while the music simply surrounds everything in a beautiful shell that captures the listener’s best memories of life. Mary-Elaine Jenkins sound is a delicious and ever-evolving mix of blues, Americana roots, soul, and rock ‘n roll, specializing in the sultry/spooky. This ain’t your mama’s singer/songwriter music. Trevor Forrest brings soulful golk music with unique experimentation into the world of poetry and voice.

        Rob Holzer

Veteran singer/songwriter Rob Holzer is enjoying his second year in residence at Caffe Vivaldi. Born and bred in New York, Rob brings a soulful and intimate writing style to his solo performance, stepping out of the band environment he's enjoyed through the years to dive deeper into his material as a solo artist. Playing songs he's written over the past 20+ years in and out of the city, his music tells the stories of love and loss, isolation and connection, and ultimately revelation in the thoroughly human experience of a life well-lived. Rob is often joined by some of the city's finest musicians for guest appearances. The vibe is laid back with a community feel and is quintessentially West Village ...more akin to a living room performance.
